At what point does a group of people become a nation?

A group becomes a nation when they have a large amount of people sharing some kind of belief that brings them together. The group establishes laws that they agree with, as they follow them and form punishments for people who disobey them. Like the United states, everyone in the nation or the majority amount of it wanted to restore democracy and fairness. So they got together and fought to be declared a nation that has it's own independence. Designing the Constitution which we live by till this day, but over the years we've added laws from our experiences and difficulties we've faced over the years as a nation. Breaking barriers and setting apart from other countries in the world.
